Three New IPL 2025 Rules Announced by BCCI

1️⃣ Expanded Decision Review System (DRS) – Includes Wide & No-Balls

  • Players can now challenge wide and no-ball calls using DRS.

  • This ensures fewer umpiring errors and fairer decisions.

Effect on Teams:
 Reduces wrong umpiring decisions.
Helps in close finishes where every run matters.
Ensures a fair game for both teams.

2️⃣ Impact Player Rule Remains Unchanged

  • The Impact Player rule introduced in previous seasons continues in 2025.

  • Teams can substitute a player during the match, adding more tactical depth.

Effect on Teams:
 More game-changing substitutions.
Gives teams a chance to adapt to pitch conditions better.
Affects bowling & batting depth based on match situations.

3️⃣ Adjusted Slow Over-Rate Penalties – Fielding Restrictions Applied

  • If a team fails to complete their overs on time, they will be penalized.

  • The team will have to keep only four fielders outside the 30-yard circle instead of five.

Effect on Teams:
Forces teams to bowl faster & avoid time delays.
Batting teams get an advantage in the death overs.
Makes the game more exciting & fast-paced for fans.
